Free guest access - QR objects on the walkway

The Waikoloa Museum Walkway Experience has two parts. The first offers free access for guests using their own phones or tablets to view selected artworks and artifacts by scanning QR codes on the pieces. Other pieces on the Walkway will also have placards on the wall near the objects, and guests can learn more about them by renting a tablet at the concierge desk and accessing one of several experiences, tours, and adventures for children and families. WMWE presently has nineteen stops (plus an optional one outside) for free QR code access, and we plan to add more. Also available at no charge are the measured health challenges around the property. These take advantage of the Walkway and the 62 acre grounds to give guests healthy and educational walking exercise at the resort. For more information about the health walks, visit Walking the Walkway.
Waka Huia - Máori treasure box
This beautifully carved object held taonga (treasures) such as the feathers of the now-extinct Huia bird. These are the most valuable feathers in the world and you can learn more about the bird and this precious container on Stop 2 of the free QR access walk, or by renting a WMWE tablet from the concierge.
